Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughters boyfriend is on cannabanoid. He o.d last night, was taken to hospital this morning, released later today. took more cannabanoid tonight. He also takes diazepam that he buys online. Please give me some sound advice on synthetic drugs. He suffers from anxiety. His Doctor will not prescribe him drugs. He thinks he is dealing with his problem by buying diazepam online. He also takes other synthetics and smokes cannabanoid. Please give me some advice, I want to help him before its to late!
Cannabinoids, whether synthetic or natural, can cause people to develop anxiety disorders. You should tell him that just taking diazepam will not control his anxiety unless he stops taking cannabis as well. Perhaps this is the reason why his doctor did not prescribe him any medicines. Ask him to stop cannabis and if he still has anxiety after that, then he would need to be on medicines like SSRIs (Zoloft, Paxil etc) instead of diazepam.
Best wishes.
