Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a mastectomy recently and my blood pressure was very high and I was told that my b.pressure should have been addressed before surgery. I have to receive chemotherapy next week and my blood pressure is still high - although dropped a little - it is now 159/74 pulse 76. Will the stresses of chemotherapy affect my blood pressure?
hi, some of drugs from chemotherapy tend to increase the blood pressure. so it's better your blood pressure is under control before hand. And be achieved very easily. Also maintain healthy lifestyle like low salt diet, low sugar and fat diet. Daily walking etc. If your kidney is normal , i would have started tab Telmisartan 40 mg once a day. You can discuss with local doctor.
