My husband and I have been trying to conceive and my ob told me after an ultra sound on march 19th that I either had just ovulated or was about to ovulate, so we had sex daily all month, then on march 27th my dad had an aortic aneurysm rupture which is hereditary and so my cardiologist ordered a CT scan of my aorta on April 2nd, my urine and blood tests came back negative in the hospital so they did the CT scan that day with contrast and without. I have since missed my period and now I am having pregnancy symptoms and worried if we in fact just conceived prior to the CT scan, or immediately after....is there any risk to our baby?? help. Thanks
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the urine pregnancy test gives accurate results after a week of missed period. So do the test at that time. And if it is positive then there are chances of radiation effect. So discuss regarding continuation of pregnancy with your doctor as even the X ray is contraindicated in pregnancy and CT scan radiation is much more times than Xray. Hope this satisfies your query. Feel free to discuss furthur. Best regards...Dr.Srilatha
