Will Doing Push Ups Worsen The Mitral Valve Prolapse?

I do high intensity training and was just diagnosed with a mild mitral valve prolapse. My cardiologist said she had read there should be an 8 lb. limit on weights used and I was wondering if push up could make it worse. What are your thoughts on that? Thx.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is valvular heart disease then care need to be taken, for any exertion, if this is not the valvular heart disease and just prolapse of mitral valve then clinical symptoms would be matter of concern and other parameters too, in conclusion I would say that after the confirmation that condition is benign then you can do the work out, hope this information helps, take care.
