hi I am 28 year old 2 weeks pregnant my TSH , Total T3 and Total T4 are 14.2micro IU/dl, 104 ng/dl and 8.8 micro g / dl respectively. 3 months back my TSH was 7.2 and I am on ethroxin 25mg since then. even after being on medication, why my TSH level shooted up? will this affect greatly to my pregnancy? Pls help.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion you have hypothyroidism and you need thyroid hormone supplement.Though you were on eltroxin already the requirements before and after the pregnancy vary. That is why even while on eltroxin the thyroid hormone level shooted up.So you need thyroid hormone adjustment by increasing the dose of eltroxin.Thyroid abnormalities are associated with miscarriages, intrauterine growth retardation etc.So consult your doctor for thyroid dose adjustment. Dont worry with adequate supplementation it becomes normal.
