Hello and thanks for the query,
The principal of ginette is as follows. If you are a new beginner and starting the pill for the first time, if started on the first day of the cycle, no additional protection is needed and protects from the day of beginning pill. If started on first Sunday after period, additional protection is needed for next 7 days.
Also if switching from other
contraceptive if you use it in continuation with the other pill, you are protected but if you start it in the middle of cycle, need additional protection for next 7 days.
The chance of
pregnancy is there only if you start it on sunday and the next 7 days are more likely to be fertile days like day 12-18. So just check how you have taken the pills and decide about the chances. If you are in the unprotected zone an
I pill may be taken to prevent pregnancy.
The chances of pregnancy are very low in the first 7 -9 days of the cycle. So if you are in this zone, I suggest that there is no need for any additional protection.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Thanks for using HCM.
