Will I Get Infected From HIV Through Open Wounds?

Hi doctor, Recently, I went to a massage without knowing it s a massage parlor. I realise it only when I got offer some extra-service that I decline. However, as I receive my massage, I have alot of mosquito bites. I have scratch alot some of the bites and they were bleeding. I am now scare to have contracted HIV through an open wound as I don t know the HIV status of the lady. She is probably at high risk as she is a sex worker. As I didn t pay attention to the foots and hands of the lady, she might have some wound or cut that have touch my wounds. This situation happen 5 days ago and I m been anxious since then. Am I at any risk? Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the forum of HCM.,
Since there was no sexual exposure the chances of infection with HIV is very very low. But as you mention about the route of exposure being your mosquito bite wounds to her wounds if any, this route is rarely known to spread the infection. Still if you want to confirm your status you can get your p24 tested after a period of one month. Presently you are in the window period and no test avalable can confirm your HIV status.
