I am having an in-clinic abortion in the next 48 hours is there anything I should know prior to that a planned parenthood might not be telling me? also I am extremely scared about this procedure can you give me any medical advice that might calm me down?
if the procedure is being done by qualified professionals, you have nothing to worry about. planned parenthood is a professional organization and you can be assured that they are very experienced in counseling women for this procedure and their practitioners are highly skilled and qualified. the worst symptoms you will hve are cramping and some bleeding, but it will resolve mostly after the first few hours, and settle down completely in two or three days at the most. most women don't require pain medicine after the first day, and maybe will use ibuprofen for a few days after that. not worse than a bad period. some women hardly have any significant discomfort. although there are risks to every surgical procedure, and I am sure they will discuss those with you, abortions are very common and it us extreme rare to have a problem. I hope this was helpful, please let me know if you have any more questions.
