Will It Be Safe To Take Cefuroxime Axetil For Sore Throat And Fever?

Hi, my 32 year old son has just returned from England. While there he started to have a sore throat and fever. This went untreated for 3 days, now his entire body has turned very red. If the skin is pressed it shows a white impression. His GP has prescribed Cefuroxime axetil 250 cetil for 5 days. I am concerned as I have never seen a reaction like this before.

hello, thanks for your query, cefuroxime is a cefalosporin works for sore throat. penicillins are the drug of choice in sore throat. cefuroxime dosage should be 500 mg twice daily in adults.take care.
