Will It Be Safe To Take Quetiapine To Induce Sleep?

yes i was just woken up from my brother i take quetiapine at night to help me sleep. I was unaware of what i was doing. I am okay now that i have woken up but while i was sleeping i was trying to serve food, falling asleep while opening a candy bar, My question is would I be concidered to be having a psycotic expisode and could I have been hospitalized in the psyc ward, or should I come off the med and would it have been an adverse reaction

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms.

Quetiapine is not safe for you and you should not take this medication at this point of time. It is used for psychiatric illness, especially psychosis.

For sleep disturbances, you could take zolpidem tablets which are safer and do not cause addiction or other side effects.

Both quetiapine and zolpidem are prescription drugs and you must see your doctor before you start taking the medication.
