Will Menstrual Bleeding Cease On Taking Gianvi Birth Control Pills?

I have been taking Gianvi-28 birth control pills for 3 months, just starting month 4. I take it continuously and do NOT take the 4 white pills at the end of the pack. A doctor gave me permission. I ve been experiencing bleeding, ranging from spotting to bleeding similar to a light period. Will the bleeding stop?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your history carefully.
Bleeding and Spotting is happening as a side effect of continuous intake of birth control pills. Inner lining of the uterus known as endometrium gradually increase in size under the effect of contraception pill hormones. Eventually, it becomes so thick that pill hormones are not able to sustain it, and it starts shedding off. This is the reason why you are experiencing Spotting in spite of taking the pills.
You need to take those white pills to avoid this happening. You should have withdrawal bleeding after taking 2-3 white pills.
Hope this will be helpful.
Take care.
