Will My Pierced Ear Close On Its Own?

I just pierced my ear, and i took it off after a couple of hours. When i removed my earring because I felt guilty, it started bleeding for a little bit, since then the hole is still a red color. Will the hole close up and will the hole still be there?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

there is no reason for fear. Your pierced ear will close on its own, not immediately, but very soon, especially while you removed the earring immediately after piercing. In a month or two the whole will vanish.
Just be careful not to touch your ear with dirty hands, to avoid infections which could prolong the time of closing.

I hope this answer was helpful to you.
