Will My Teenage Son Need To Stay On Zoloft And Risperdal For Life, Given Their Side Effects, And Can He Take A Focus Supplement While On These Medications?

Good day doctor. My 13 yr old son was diagnosed with GAD/OCD. He is a bright kid but since puberty started we noticed a change in his behaviour, he would get fustrated and sometimes scream out. When we ask him he said he keeps getting these worries that wont go away. He also said to get rid of one worry he has to create another worry. This has affected him so badly , that he is no longer able to concentrate on school work and some days he cannot attend. His psychologist has him on zoloft(25mg) and rispadal (0.5mg) in the morning and then the respidal in the evening. The medicine has improved his behaviour but he still has no motivation to towards his school work. He did told me he wold like to take somethig for focusing. My question is does he need to be on thes meds for the rest of his life.? Cause i read the side effect are not good especially the rispidal. Would i be able to give him any supliment for example kids focus factor chewable while he is on these meds?.thank you.
