i am 58 years old, female in good health. I had blood work done at Lifetime Fitness, the results came back, I am trying to get an appointment with a local dr. but that will be August before I can see them. I had a feeling my thyroid was a bit sluggish, as I eat properly (I see a nutritionist) and have been gaining weight about a pound a week, very frustrating. My Glucose was 112 with the Optimal Functioning Values @80-90. My insulin was 9.8 with OFV @2-8. My Free T3 2.8 OFV @ 3-3.25, My AM Coritisol, blood was 17.1 OFV 9.7-14.55 and my DHEA at 72 OFV @350-701. There is a history of diabetes in my family, mother, sister, grandmother and uncle. One of my questions is, if I get my thyroid to normal levels, will the help with the cortisol and DHEA?
