Will Pregnancy With A Low Lying Placenta Benefit From A Caesarian Section?
Hi I have a BMI of 44.5 have had one previous C-section 13months ago and am currently 32weeks pregnant. Since 12 week scan I ve had a low position placenta 20week scan revealed it was posterior low lying 22week scan revealed it was posterior low lying reaching internal os What are my chances of it moving? ANd from what I have told you in your personal opinion would a planned c section be safer for me and baby?
Hi, thanks for writing.. I understand your concern.. A repeat scan need to be done at 36 weeks to see the position of placenta. In some cases as the uterus grows, placenta will move up and away from the os. In that case, normal delivery is possible. But if placenta is still covering the internal os at 36 weeks, it is better to undergo CS mainly plaaned. Though CS have has its own complication but in placenta previa it is always better for both mother and baby. take good rest and avoid travel and sex. hope I have answered your query. good day..
