Will Removal Of Thyroid Due To Nodules Affect Patient S Weight?
I have surgery scheduled to remove my thyroid, due to nodules. non cancerous. My Dr says I am hypo...vs hyper I am also post menapausal. I do NOT want ot GAIN weight at all. What should my expectations be relative to this? If the hormone increases metabolism, shouldnt I lose weight?

If you are just worried about the surgery then this is nothing to worry because if the nodules are benign and not clinically induces any symptoms then no need to go for surgery but of course thyroid hormone level need to be maintain properly if this is not normal in range, normal hormone level does not increases the metabolism, reducing the weight is good, but this not that much easy going, take care.
