Hi,
Mebendazole belongs to the category C and this means animal studies have proven teratogenecity and there are no adequate human studies. Therefore, it is always ideal to avoid such drugs, especially during the first trimester unless strictly indicated. Please consult your health care provider for further suggestions. If it is absolutely necessary that you receive treatment for threadworm infestation, alternative medication may be sought. Please maintain genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
