Husband, 74 yrs, started Duloxetine 40mg once a day, rx filled 7/30/16. He is now having problems with hands, and body shaking, this did not start until yesterday when he took Gabapentin 800mg in the morning. Would this combination cause the shaking.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Combination of Duloxetine & Gabapentine may interact & increase the side effects. Since your husband is having tremors you should inform the treating doctor so that the medications can be replaced by another that suits him better.

Neglect may cause worsening of the symptoms like dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty in concentrating, confusion, Impaired motor coordination, tremors, etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
