Will Taking Zocor Reduce The Cholesterol Level?

I recently had 2 stents put into my left artery. My heart doctor says there was very minimal plaque in my arteries. I came home on Zocor. Ever sense I have been extremely weak. The doc thought it was a sodium issue but that is not the case. Can ZOCOR be reducing my cholesterol too low, and causing those symptoms?

Hi,

Zocor is a statin drug used to lower cholesterol levels. Feeling extremely weak might be related to:
- post-stent intervention
- oscillation in blood pressure (perhaps going too low)
- Zocor use (cause muscle damage and weakness)

If everything is ok with your heart and stent condition, then, it might be due to Zocor. You can discuss this as side effect of taking Zocor (statin drug) and to change therapy (choose any other cholesterol lowering drug).

Hope it helped!
