Dear Friend
Welcome to Health care magic. I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I will shortly try to help you with my opinion.

Your dermatologist has correctly prescribed hydrocortisone ointment and moisturizer. But hydrocortisone cannot be continued for long and very oftenly.I will advise you to put moisturizer over semi wet body preferably post bath over whole body of your child. If itch is not getting relieved despite this, you may give your child antihistaminics like syp phenargan in night time.

Based on the available details, this is my best advice for you. You should discuss with your doctor and share my opinion, I am sure he/she will agree to my opinion. If you wish to discuss the problem further , you may please ask.
Stay Healthy.
