Will Taking Medication For Flu And Cold Be Indicated In The Urine Drug Screening?

My son is in the process of orientation for a good job. He has been taking Contact Cold and Flu for 4 days. Today he had a Urine drug screen and he is concerned there is something in the medication that will cause a problem in the results. He needs to know if he needs to report that he has been taking this medication.

Hi,

It will be better if your son reports that he is taking this medication. This is because one of the contents of this medication is phenylephrine, which can cause a false positive reaction for amphetamines. So it will be better if your son reports that he has been taking this medicine.

Best wishes.
