Will The Broken Lumber 1 Cause Permanent Disability?

hello i have broken my lumbar 1 fell off my horse, i have had L1 to T12 fused with 2 rods and 6 screws put in, i will recover and walk properly again maybe restricted to certain things like not being able to bend the way i used to etc, and i am now always going to suffer back pain my consultant said.. does this mean im going to have a permanent disability?
