Hi, I am 15 years old and I have been receiving the depo shot for 2 years now. I m not sure if I have taking it exactly when I need to though. I am having pregnancy symptoms and I have a dark ring around my areoloas, could I be pregnant and will the shot hurt the baby if I am?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The depo shot can cause a hormonal imbalance which in turn can result in pregnancy symptoms, thus pregnancy is not always the case. But if at all you are experiencing the symptoms then ruling it out or confirming it with the help of a pregnancy test will surely be wise.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
