Will The Following Help In Healing An Infected Toe For My 30-year-old?

My 30 years old son lives with assisted living and the social worker called and he has an infected big toe and other 3 nails are dark. Will a local antibiotic cream, epsom salt baths, high doses of vitimin C, etc. be good for healing? She took him to an ER. I don t live near. I have a text picture on my iPhone. Thanks, Greta

Hello,

Infection in the big toe along with discoloration of other nails can be a simple infection called Paronychia or even a Fungal infection.

However, if the blackening is of the Toes rather than the nails, it is an alarming sign and needs to be evaluated.

You say that he was taken to an ER, what did they say? I have they prescribed the medications that you have mentioned? If yes then continue the same, however, get him reviewed at regular intervals.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
