Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, This is to ask about my friend's health. Below are his details. Age: 24, Height:5'8", Weight:72 Medical History: My friend has suffered from Rheumatic fever at the age of 5. He was admitted in hospital then and later he had taken some injection every month. Though it was advised only to take till the age of 15, he has taken till the age of 21 to be on safer side. And on doctor's advice, he stopped the medication completely. He also had Asthma in his childhood, but after some ayurvedic treatment it hasn't come again. He generally gets tired quickly. Queries: Will this rheumatic disease have any effect on his health later? Will there be any problem in his marriage and offspring? Will it lead to any deformities in the later stages?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern for your friend if this is confirmed rheumatic disease then no need to worry about this, you have not mentioned that either the treatment your friend given was for the rheumatic fever ? if this is so then he need to go for cardiac evaluation periodically because this may cause the valvular lesion in later life, as far as the marital life is concern this does not affect this for the offspring it is uncertain, have a nice day.
