Will The Throat Dryness Cause To Spit Blood?

Hi, My grandfather lives in a desert climate and said that for awhile he was having trouble where he would spit out a little bit of blood in the mornings. He got a humidifier recently because it s so dry where he lives and he said the blood has stopped. Is it possible to have your throat get so dry that you would end up bleeding or does he possibly have something more serious and I should encourage him to go see a doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The spitting of blood is called the hemoptysis, ma be due to the infection in the throat, sinuses, nose etc may be due to the allergy,to the throat gel or some thing else or infection.
The other causes may be due to the infection of the lungs, may be bacterial, or eosinofelia.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment .
He may need t have X ray chest and other tests for diagnosis.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, phenylefrine, citrizine, and styptics if bleeding continues.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
