Will The Vaginal Odor Resolve By Itself?

I accidentally left a tampon in for two days. I found it and removed it myself, but I am still experiencing an unpleasant odour from my vagina, three days after removal, despite washing thoroughly. I don't have any TSS symptoms or any other problems. Should I be concerned about the smell, or is there a normal period of time that it will take to resolve?
