Hi, tonsils can lead to snoring and breathing problems though associated adenoid enlargement is more known for snoring complaints. Some issues of failure to gain weight and loss of appetite are generally associated with tonsillar problems but there is not much evidence in literature for that. Still removing tonsils and adenoids may improve growth but the reason can be more related to decreasing number of infective episodes as well as improved breathing and swallowing. Please consult an ENT for evaluation. Regards
