With Blurred Vision When Should I Undergo Cataract Surgery?
My Mother mrs B is 75 years old, has had good vision only in her right eye only since birth. Suffers from cholesterol, high BP, had had angioplasty She was suggested to have cataract surgery five months ago but due to high blood pressure and various other reasons did not go ahead with it. 3 days ago she complained of blurred vision and was seen Dr AK Tandon and Dr Malpani in Mumbai. She is slightly confused if she has to wait for a 5-6 days and see if her vision improves with the help of drops or have cataract surgery done immediately. Yesterday her vision was slightly better but today it is very blurry as 2 days ago.
Leave the date of surgery to be decided by doctor. BP can be controlled and she can go for cataract surgery. It is suggested she should go for phako emulsification and iol implantation.
