With Only 38% Working Heart Is Normal Life Possible?

My father had a massive heart attack at 55 he is now 71.because he waited to go to the hospital he now only has 38 % of a working heart. He is terrified to do anything because he thinks hes going to die. can he live normally and exercise and live a normal life?

he needs to be convinced that he has continued living without episode after 16 years of heart attack.He may get fresh echocardiograpky and consult heart specialist.38% is low, but in abscence of any congestive failure events, he may do mild to moderate activity if his breathing is normal ,he may avoid strain or activity which aggravates his breath rate or heart rate to high levels or make him uneasy
