Woke Up With A Pain On My Chest. Painful To Touch, Hurts When Coughing. Am Bit Heavy. Problem?
I am a 65 yr old female in good health. I woke up yesterday morning with a pain on my chest. I discovered a round, soft to the touch mass, which is visible on the skin surface. Of course I have called and made a Dr. appt, but I have been online everywhere looking for some answers. It is painful to the touch, hurts when I cough or walk down the steps. I am a bit heavy at 160 lbs.

Swelling with tenderness is more in favour of an inflammatory swelling.
Sudden onset of the swelling may indicate that it may be an abscess.
Rest and analgesic will help to reduce the pain.
Consult your doctor and get an ultrasound of the sound for a more definitive diagnosis.
