Would ABI Be Due To Brain Issues Or Spinal Damage?

Hi, my Thai girl friends uncle had a ABI in Thailand motorbike accident and is now suffering total paralysis, can anything be done - I also suffered a ABI a long time ago. I have some understand of the issues involved. Would that be brain stream activity issues or possibly spinal column damage ? kind regards Mike
