Would SCA Affects Social Life?

My husband has been diagnosed with SCA about a year ago and has also gone on medical disability. My question is does this in any way affect his social skills. He's very much at home lately, and a person has to be very careful what you say to him. It's his way or no way. He doesn't listen to reason and doesn't seem to care who he hurts with what he says.
