Would Anal Sex Lead To HIV Infection When Neither Is Diagnosed With Any STI?
hi, my girlfriend of one year wanted me do anal sex on her and i would like to know the correct way to clean up after having anal sex to make sure i don't get any infection on my penis. also neither one of us has HIV or any other STD but i would like to know if we would be at risk if we did anal without protection
Hi, Welcome to HCM. STDs are not single disease, but comprises of more than 25 diseases. If you and your girl friend are strictly monogamous so far then there is no question of STD. If she had also not received any blood transfusion or IV Drug abuse, then you need not worry about HIV also. Anal sex between monogamous partners has no risk. Very rarely amoebic infection can be transmitted as a cutaneous infection over your external genitals. It is a rarest possibility. Washing with ordinary toilet soap and water is enough after anal intercourse to clean yourself as some of the antiseptic cleansers would like to produce irritation to genitals. Dr S.Murugan
