Would Changing The Regimen Of Birth Control Medication Reduce Their Effectiveness?

HI there, I am on birth control, and I know this is going to sound silly but I had my pack upside down when I started a new month, so I took the fourth week pills instead of the first week pills. After I took the fourth week pills I went back to the first week pills and finished the pack. Now I just started a new month of the and I am in the first week, but got my period. What should I do?

Hello,

You should always take your prescribed medications correctly, changing the regimen or missing doses will cause the efficacy of the medicines to get reduced.

You are having breakthrough bleeding, do continue to take the medicines to avoid the risk of an unplanned pregnancy.

If the breakthrough bleeding gets heavy you should report to your gynae & get clinically examined.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
