Would Deviry And Progyova Tablets Affect Fetus?

Hello doctor, iam vidya 27yrs old. My last period date was 12 july 2011. I was waiting for 2 months but i didn t get my periods. So i went to doctor on sep 19th 2011. And took a urine test. Since it is negative, my doctor prescribed me deviry 10mg. I took it for 6days as 1 tablet a day. Then i was waiting for 2weeks and i didn t get my periods. After 2weeks my doctor gave me progynova 2mg for 10 days. After taking 5 tablets, i got vomitting and general weakness. So again i went to doctor and she told me to take an abdomen ultrasound. After looking my scan result, i came to know that i was pregnant for 2months and 2days. I was very happy to see the result but my worry is that the tablets i took for the past months will affect my foetus anymore. Please answer my question doctor.

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Deviry is medroxyprogesterone acetate which is a progesterone and it is not known to cause any harmful effect on the fetus.
Progynova is estrogen and is generally given in conception by in vitro fertilization( IVF). It is safe for the fetus and causes no side effects on mother also.
I would suggest you to not to worry as these drugs are safe. You should start taking folic acid tablets, if not taking earlier.
