Would Dizziness, Lightheadedness And Tingling Sensation In Tongue Be Considered Signs Of A Serious Condition?

Hiya, For the last few weeks I have had regular, brief sensations of dizzy/lightheadedness with tingling of my tounge/mouth and sometimes hands. I m male, mid 40 s and a heavy smoker. What could be causing this ongoing and increasingly worrying condition??
