Would Fibre Diet And Exercises Help In Bringing Down Cholesterol?
I just head a health scrren test- all results can up good except high cholesterol 262- and high triglycerides 175. My cholesterol/HDL ration is 3.9. HDL- 67, LDL 160. Previous tobeing tested I was sick w/ intestinal problems and eating alot of eggs. I am hesitant to go on medication due to a side effect of muscle pains(ie Lipitor). Would you try to eat more fiber and exercise and reduce it that way or do you think I should have it re-checked and go on medication? Thanks for your answer!
Hi welcome to HCM, You seem to have both hypercholestrolemia and hypertriglyceridemia.Your ldl should be below 100mg/dl.Regular physical exercise for 20min a day for 5 days a week can reduce your blood cholesterol levels. An oatmeal breakfast is very effective.Drugs can be used in your case.A cambination of Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate is very useful.Consult your cardiologist for further queries. Thank you
