Would Hair Loss Incurred During A Head Trauma Grow Back?
I m 58 and fell backwards skipping 2 stairs and landing on the back top left side of my head, I didn t break the fall, it happen too fast. I have plenty of hair, however, if you split my hair on the spot where I landed it is currently bald the side of a 50 cent piece. It s been 5 weeks since that accident -is it possible that my hair will grow back? Should I be applying something on it now? I am great full that the spot isn t any bigger since the bump was half of the size of a goose egg. I did not see my Dr. since I cannot afford the co-pay. Let me know -it s much appreciated.
Hello, Thank you for your query. Hair regrowth depends on the severity of the Injury. If the hair follicles were damaged, it may take a long while to regrow or not grow at all. If it was not too severe, it will from back sooner, in 2-3 months. Massage the area with oil regularly to improve blood circulation and to stimulate hair growth.
Have a healthy diet and maintain good hair hygiene. Hope this helps. Wish you good health
