Would Soaking Foot In Epsom Salt Help To Reduce Pain And Swelling?

I am a 68 year old male, 6 ft, 225 lbs. I have recently been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. I've also had a recent flair of gout, for which I've taken Allopurinol for several years. I am not diabetic. Would soaking my foot in Epsom salt help the pain and swelling? I had bilateral knee replacement surgery 10 months ago.
