My boyfriend has petechia on his feet. It appeared on Tuesday after being sunburnt at work on Friday, but the sunburn was only on the exposed skin of his arms, face and head. Would that be a cause? I m concerned because he hasn t been feeling well the weekend between and I wonder if it might be something more serious, possibly heart related.
Dear I am concerned about your friend's problem and hope that you know about petechiae which are collections of red blood cells in the skin. as your friend had sunburn some days before their appearance, I see no relation between his skin lesions described by you and the sun exposure. Is he taking some medicines or having other systemic features like fever, malaise, or an obvious infection? Has this occurred for the first time?Kindly get his ESR and urinanalysis done and note whether it is related to abdominal pain. Please revert to me with these details and we can handle the situation better. Till then ask him to keep the feet elevated and remain observant about any other abnormal finding related to health. Please do not worry.
