Wound On Shin Due To Falling Of Gate Which Is Not Healing, Ringworm Type Welts And Rashes In Body. Suspected Cellulitis. Advice
A gate fell on shin 3 weeks ago, a graize rather than cut, wasn't healing, put on antibiotics by doc. Now raised ringworm type welts and rash all over body, feel really low. Sent to hospital, had skin swab and blood tests nothing else, sent home, they said it might be cellulitis. One doctor wanted to give intravenous antibiotic, the other didn't. The latter one won! Never had the wound on shin that isn't healing dressed or anything. Seeing a dermatologist soon. Have since had dressing on wound.
Hello, Thanks for the query. Cellulitis wont present with itch. It presents with fever and pain.
Itch might be associated with id reaction. It can be associated with eczema, or any other infection at the site of injury.
Dont worry its just a reaction, you will soon recover.
Take some antihistamine and apply a mild steroid cream. Let me know if you have any other doubt.
