X-ray Showed Increased Bronchovascular Markings, Bronchitis, Normal Thoracic Cage. What Does It Mean?
My X-ray showed : "The Hilar shadow are slightly prominent of the both sides. Increased bronchovascular markings, suggesting of bronchitis. Normal cardiac shadow in size, shape and configuration. Normal hemi diaphragms and clear both costophrenic angles. Normal thoracic bony cage." Doc, can you enlighten me with my x-ray results? Am i still fit to work? Hoping for your urgent response. Safe regards and thanks,
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
I would like to know if you have got any respiratory tract infection, or if you smoke. If you do, then this type of X ray finding is likely to be reported by the radiologist even if you do not have any lower respiratory tract infection. Once your infection is treated, and you also quit smoking, subsequent X ray when taken on any further medical indication, may show less of these present findings.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further steps in your management. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic for clearing doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
