Don't Know Who To Turn To. A Dentist,oral Surgeon Or

don't know who to turn to. A dentist,oral surgeon or a periodontist. I'm clueless at the moment and have to get the problem fixed ASAP. I am 21 years old and have had braces ever since I was about 15. I stopped going when I left 10/11th grade. Even then it was rare I went due to my ride. Anyways I took of my braces on my own and my gums are really nasty. They literally bend off where you can see the bottom of my teeth. My spouse says they are rotting like her pomeranians teeth. I am literally about to grab a knife and cut my gums lower where they don't surpass my teeth. How can I fix this without losing my bottom 4 teeth. My gums bother me. Thanks
