High Levels Of White Blood Cells In 31weeks Pregnant

I have been in n out of hospital for last ten days as i am 31weeks pregnant and my blood is showing really high levels of white blood cells. i have bn treated for infection and theyre still high. why do they worry though?

Hi.. Welcome to healthcare magic community forum..
You could have mentioned how high is the WBC counts.
Mild to moderate elevation are indicate of an inflammation probably secondary to infection. Presence of active infection can affect pregnancy.
Hence, if no active symptoms of infection are seen, you will have to repeat blood counts again.
If they are persisting to be high, evaluations with antibiotics may be necessary..
