My Son Was Elbowed In The Throat While Playing Basketball.
my son was elbowed in the throat while playing basketball. He has no trouble breathing but it is extremely uncomfortable especially when swallowing. He told me that when he presses on the outside of his throat, on his adams apple, he can feel it. it is not terribly painful. I looked inside his throat and it is very red. I thought I may have seen a laceration but I'm not exactly sure. Do you think it's necessary to go to the ER? Can we treat it here? He is 23 years old
