should i have my 6.8mm ovarian cyst removed surgically,it has been present for 4 years and is slowly getting larger,i do experience problems with bladder control and according to ultrasound it is putting pressure on my bladder,i also get short lasting stabbing pains on occasions,it is in my ovary rather than on it
I am not sure about the size of the cyst. It must be 6.8 cm and not mm. If it is there for years and is now growing and has grown beyond 6cm, the best option is to get it removed. It is already producing a dent on the bladder and it is important to get a microscopic examination of the cyst to rule out any small chance of developing cancer [ as it is growing now].
So in my opinion long standing cysts, suddenly increasing in size and more than 6cm must be removed as soon as possible.
