The sound can be 'Tinnitus' or a vascular bruit. Is it in both ears? What is her age? Which medications is she currently taking? Is she hypertensive ( has high blood pressure)? Are her blood tests normal? Kindly get her hearing tests (PTA & Impedance Audiogram) done. You may also get a Neck Doppler study and Cervical Spine X-rays done. An MRI brain scan may pick up additional information in spite of a normal CT scan. An MRA (Angiogram) can be considered if the bouts of unconsciousness persist.
Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. Hearing self snoring sound is something not heard of by me till now, i believe it has to be some other sound called tinnitus. You must get your mother examined by a ENT doctor who would do audiometric tests on your mother and evaluate and provide appropriate treatment. Wish you good health.
