Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why doesn't my orthodontist want to fix my protruded teeth?! I've had my braces on for five years or so and they have gone straight. I'm still not happy with the results because my side profile is not I want. I asked my orthodontist and she said she can't because my bite is already placed like that. I don't like it though
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain first thing is that wearing of the braces for 5 years is not indicated as Fixed Orthodontic Treatment can show appropriate results in one and a half year of treatment period and at maximum of 2 years..
Secondly there is a limit to change the profile as it depends upon alignment of teeth as well as size and shape of jawbones..
I would suggest you to consult an Orthodontist and get the x rays done so that any scope for further improvement in facial profiie can be ruled out..
In case if there is any bony abnormality then you might need to consult an Orthognathic or an Orthopedic surgeon and get evaluated and then surgery can be done for improvement...
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
