About 4 weeks ago, my big toe got very painful and lasted about 2-3 days without any signs of redness, swelling, injury. Was pretty pianful to walk on it though. I remember I had used new cuticle scissors to push the skin back on the cuticle and they were rough on the skin. It might have been what caused the trauma. However, there has been nailpolish on it, and it wasn't until today that I noticed that the buttom third of the nail is detached from the nail bed and the buttom edge is almost completely separated from the cuticle. The tip of the nail looks healthy. Never seen or heard of this before. Normally - as far as I know - the tip is what gets the infection, fungus first. Has anybody had this before? I'm a little nervous cause it seems like the nail's nutrition supply is cut off with the cuticle separation. What can I expect? How can I help the recovery? Am I gonna lose the nail? Is it gonna grow back?
Hi,
Thanks for query,
Nothing to worry,It is nail bed infection,
Go for antibiotic medicine and anti inflammatory medicine and you may become alright.
Nail will be peeled of and new nail will come.
Take tetanus toxoid shot.
Do dressing daily.
Ok and bye.
